Investing In An Economy That Benefits Montanans

Montana’s economy should work for the people who live and work here — not just large corporations or coastal interests. I believe in an economy rooted in fairness, opportunity, and respect for the people who keep Montana running: workers, small business owners, farmers, ranchers, and tradespeople.

My focus is simple: lower costs, strengthen local industries, and make sure Montanans have the skills and support they need to succeed right here at home.

Tax Fairness

Montanans who work hard and play by the rules shouldn’t carry an unfair tax burden while large corporations and the ultra-wealthy find loopholes to avoid paying their share.

I support a fair tax system that: Lowers costs for middle-class families and small businesses, closes loopholes that allow large corporations to shift profits offshore and ensures the wealthiest Americans contribute their fair share. Tax fairness isn’t about punishing success — it’s about making sure everyone pays what they owe so working families aren’t left footing the bill.

Funding Trade School & Apprenticeship Opportunities

Not every good-paying job requires a four-year degree. Montana’s economy depends on skilled trades — electricians, welders, mechanics, builders, and technicians — and demand for these jobs is growing. I support expanding and strengthening career and technical education by increasing funding for trade schools, community colleges, and vocational programs. We also need to fund the expansion of registered apprenticeships that allow workers to earn while they learn. We can do this by partnering with local employers to align training with real job opportunities in Montana and investing in rural training programs so opportunities exist outside of major population centers.

By strengthening these pathways, Montana can keep more young people in-state, fill critical workforce shortages, and build a stronger, more resilient economy.
