Protecting Public Lands
Public lands are a vital part of our life in Montana, yet Republicans and this administration have made it clear that they will sell our public lands to the highest bidder. Our public lands are not just scenery, they are a way of life, a major driver of our economy, and a defining part of what makes this state special. From hunting and fishing to hiking, and tourism these lands belong to all Montanans and must be managed for both current use and future generations. I believe Montana's public lands should remain public, accessible, and well-managed without being sold off, or privatized.
Defending Public Ownership And Access
We must defend public ownership and access to lands managed by agencies like the Forest Service, Bureau of Land management, and Nation Park Service, ensuring they remain open for hunting, fishing, grazing and recreation.
Strengthening Conservation And Habitat Protection
To preserve wildlife populations, clean water, and healthy ecosystems that support both outdoor recreation and Montana’s agricultural economy we must strengthen conservation and habitat protections.
Investing In Wildfire Prevention And Forest Management
We must fund and invest in wildfire prevention and forest management including active thinning, prescribed burns, and modernized response capabilities to better protect communities and landscapes.
Expanding Access And Infrastructure For Outdoor Recreation, including trail maintenance, river access points, and public land facilities that support Montana’s growing outdoor economy.
We need to be supporting local communities that depend on public lands, including gateway towns and rural economies that rely on tourism, recreation, and resource-based jobs.
